NHS Fractured Neck of Femur Splint

Collaborating with eminent Orthopaedic surgeon, Professor Angus Wallace, and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service, the FNoF splint is designed and developed for the NHS National Innovation Centre. The product immobilises the hip to reduce further damage during transportation of the patient to hospital and through the process in hospital to surgery. The splint was designed to reduce the amount of pain the patient endures and hence reduce the number of opiates administered, speeding recovery and reducing hospital bed time.
