Ingenia is a highly-regarded Industrial Design Agency. With many successful product designs released to market over the years for a wide-ranging client base, crossing a variety of industries. We take pride in our ability to take on new challenges for existing and new clients, designing products, prototyping and getting them to market efficiently and effectively. Our passion for design never wavers, it’s what we enjoy doing day-to-day.

Ethical design

All designers should consider how the objects that they design can be disposed of at the end of their useful life. With this in mind, the easier it is to assemble a product, the easier it should be to break it down for servicing or recycling. See ‘Circular Economy’. Materials should also be specified that can be reused/ recycled if desired. Use of aluminium extrusion is an example of this.

Working with Ingenia is refreshingly different, there is an understanding of process and machinery constraints, along with consideration of volumes and costs, right from the outset. Integrity and good, clear communications build confidence as the project progresses, making the design process easy to manage. We are happy to recommend Ingenia.

William Gardiner - Technical Director of Heber Ltd

We’ve always found Ingenia great to work with – responsive, patient, conscientious and with a really good eye for design. The products have been well designed, functional and user friendly, but we believe that the visual appeal created has been a big part of the products’ success too. I would definitely recommend Ingenia based on our experience working with them.

Matt Flewitt - Owner of Cleansmart Ltd

I started working with Simon Hobbs in his capacity as a design engineer in 2012. We collaborated to develop a brace for treating hip and leg fractures with grant support from the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement. The Fracture Neck of Femur (FNoF) Splint was designed by Simon and his team and underwent clinical trials in 2012/13. The NHS National Innovation Centre closed in 2013 and regrettably the NHS did not provide further support for the trials, although our brace worked well.

I found Simon to be innovative, enthusiastic and a great design engineer and it was a pleasure working with him. I am happy to recommend and support him for engineering design projects in the future.

Emeritus Prof W Angus Wallace - Academic Orthopaedics, Trauma & Sports Medicine, University of Nottingham

Simon and I have worked together several times since about 2008. He is my first port of call any time I need industrial or mechanical design support. Over the years, we’ve worked together on everything from new monitor chassis, electronics enclosures, camera systems and a collar for ultrasonic flow sensing on pipelines. Simon operates in an extremely collaborative manner, is fun to work with, comes up with lots of innovative ideas, creates very high quality output and always goes the extra mile for the good of the project. I really enjoy working with Simon and hope we have many more opportunities to do so in the future.

Adrian Steel - Dashboard Ltd

Simon fully understands our business and our customer requirements which enables him to design and guide us towards the most considered and cost-efficient solutions. The complete service he is able to provide from concept through to manufacture and delivery is incredibly reassuring when developing new products – very much a ‘safe pair of hands’!
