Facial Recognition Camera

To design and develop a robust enclosure to house a camera, Xenon flash, processing unit and pcb, as an alternative to a fabricated enclosure. The hardware complemented Omniperception’s facial recognition software for security purposes. Given the high temperatures of the flash unit in the camera, aluminium extrusion was considered the most appropriate manufacturing method as it allowed improved heat dissipation and relatively low tooling costs. The internal features of the extrusion allowed quick exchange of key components during camera servicing. Machined aluminium ends created a crisp look with the advantages of heat dissipation and Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) compliance. The batch manufacture of 25 units at a time enabled the client to assess the product after installation at various locations, one of which was Heathrow Airport.
